A few weeks ago, second graders and their eighth grade buddies participated in the very first Extreme Egg Drop Challenge at AVS. Each group of students was given a raw egg, 75 straws, and two meters of tape. Their assignment was to create a contraption from these materials that would enable their egg to withstand a drop from the roof of AVS. The experience was filmed and on Monday, April 23, the entire school gathered for an assembly in the gym to watch a brief movie of the students working together and putting their efforts to the test. ATTENTION PARENTS OF INCOMING KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS
If your child will be 5 on or before October 15, 2012, he/she is eligible to enroll in kindergarten for the school year 2012-2013. Registration at Appleton Village School will be on May 8th. Please contact the school office at 785-4504 to start the enrollment process.
